Newell steps up from Chief Revenue Officer to lead growth across Canada and expansion into the United States.
Adapt Media has a new president. On July 9, 2026, the Canadian digital out of home media company, part of Wildwood Park Media Corp, named Amanda Newell to the role. Newell, previously Chief Revenue Officer, helped triple the company’s owned and operated advertising network. Her mandate now covers continued growth across Canada and expansion into the United States.
Who Amanda Newell is and what she built at Adapt Media
Newell joined Adapt Media as Chief Revenue Officer in 2021, following senior roles at Torstar and the CBC.1 During her tenure the company tripled its owned and operated advertising network. It also built an iGaming media business from the ground up after Ontario opened its regulated online gaming market on April 4, 2022.2 That market has since grown into one of North America’s largest.3 What began as a new opportunity is now a significant business line, and it made Adapt Media a serious player in reaching gaming audiences through digital out of home media.
A rare seat at the top of Canadian out of home
Newell is one of the few women to lead a Canadian out of home media company, and a biracial leader in a category where representation at the top remains rare. Her appointment reflects both her results and the evolving leadership landscape in Canadian media.
“I’m absolutely ecstatic to have been granted the mantle of Adapt’s presidency, joining an intimate group of women who helm a Canadian media sales organization,” said Newell. “I didn’t get here on my own and am unabashedly grateful to the peerless Adapt team for their inexhaustible work in tripling the size of this organization, and Jamie Thompson’s bolstering faith in me as a leader.”
“Amanda has earned this role through consistent leadership and real results,” said Jamie Thompson, Chief Executive Officer of Wildwood Park Media Corp. “She has been central to building the Adapt Media we know today, expanding our network, creating new revenue, and developing a culture that attracts great people and lasting client relationships. That she is also one of the few women leading a company in our industry, and a biracial leader at that, makes this an important moment, not just for Adapt Media but for Canadian out of home media.”
What the appointment means for advertisers
For media buyers and planners, the signal is continuity with more ambition. Newell built the revenue organization behind Adapt Media’s convenience store network, its government environments, and its multicultural networks, and she has led iGaming media strategy since the category’s first days in Canada. As President she will deepen client partnerships and broaden the company’s media offerings while leading the push into the United States.
The foundation stays the same. Adapt Media has been 100% Canadian-owned and operated since 1998, and the network Newell now leads was built in Canada, not parachuted in from elsewhere.
